The Capital One Venture X Business is Capital One’s lucrative business card. Several weeks ago, we saw a huge limited time welcome bonus rolled out on this card — while the spending requirement is significant, so is the potential upside. I’d like to post a reminder of this offer, as it’s anyone’s guess how much longer it’ll stick around.
Limited time Capital One Venture X Business bonus details
The Capital One Venture X Business is offering a limited time two-part welcome bonus where you can earn up to 400,000 Capital One bonus miles:
- Earn 200,000 bonus miles after spending $30,000 within the first three months
- Earn an additional 200,000 bonus miles after spending a total of $150,000 within the first six months
For context, previously the card simply offered a bonus of up to 150,000 miles after spending $30,000, so even if you “only” spend that much, this bonus is already 33% better. Meanwhile if you are an even bigger credit card spender, it’s hard to beat this return for $150K of spending.
For example, if you spent $150,000, you’d earn a minimum of 700,000 miles, which is excellent. This is a phenomenal bonus, and for what it’s worth, I value Capital One miles at 1.7 cents each.
So to me, 200,000 miles are worth $3,400, while 400,000 miles are worth $6,800. Or put another way, the minimum of 700,000 miles you’d earn on $150,000 of spending are worth $11,900 by my valuation, so that’s a roughly 8% return on spending.
There are lots of great uses for Capital One miles, as they can be transferred to all kinds of useful airline and hotel partners, or they can be redeemed toward a travel purchase.

Who is eligible for the Capital One Venture X Business bonus?
All card issuers have some general application restrictions. However, Capital One probably has among the fewest consistent restrictions. Specific to the Capital One Venture X Business, the welcome offer on the card isn’t available to those who already have the card, or those who had the Spark Travel Elite Card (which is what this card was briefly branded as) or who have the Capital One Spark Cash Plus (review).
Beyond that, eligibility should be unrelated to having any other Capital One card. You are eligible for the bonus on this card if you have the personal version of the card. Note that while there are similarities between the two cards, there are also some differences.

Why the Capital One Venture X Business is worth it
The Capital One Venture X Business has a $395 annual fee, so it’s among the higher annual fee business cards out there. However, the card offers a variety of rewards, benefits, and perks, that should offer outsized value:
The way I do the math on the card is that I consider the $300 annual travel credit and 10,000 anniversary bonus miles to (more than) cover the annual fee on an ongoing basis, and then everything else is the real value offered by the card. You’re earning a great return on spending, plus airport lounge access.

Bottom line
The Capital One Venture X Business is offering a massive limited time welcome bonus, whereby you can earn up to 400,000 bonus miles (though with a huge spending requirement, admittedly). You should be eligible for this card as long as you don’t currently have this exact card, haven’t had the Spark Travel Elite, and don’t currently have the Spark Cash Plus.
There’s lots of value to having this card in the long-run, including being able to earn 2x miles with no preset spending limit, plus all kinds of valuable travel perks, including airport lounge access. If you’ve been considering this card, now is the ideal time to apply.
